Normal yearly usage figures below are based on the Green Plumbers Association 50 point audit, 2005:

Based on our own 9/4.5 litre dual flush toilets of which we have three in our household, it take 80 seconds to fill our 9 litre cistern, in one hour, 495 litres will be wasted. In areas of high water pressure this figure would increase.
